WHAT IS GYM SHORTS?
It’s a podcast, produced by Ophea, that shines a spotlight on our relationship with physical health and education.
In other words, looking back at why gym class sucked (or ruled) and what that says about ourselves AND the system itself. And maybe figure out some solutions along the way…
Why was I sent this page?
In short (sorry), because the team thinks you’d be a great guest on our show :)
This team! Clockwise from L: Host Tammy Shubat, host Andrea Haefele, producer Aude Gazzano, producer/editor Mike Meehan, producer Drew Maginn
What is required of a guest?
Each guest tells a story of their physical health/education journey, and has a lively conversation with one of our hosts.
Prior to recording, we like to have a quick call to go over the story you’d like to tell, so that you feel prepared and comfortable with what you’d like to share in your episode.
A typical recording session is done over Streamyard and lasts around 90 minutes. We like to keep things authentic and honest, and our show prides itself on offering a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for our guests.
I don’t think being a guest is the right fit… but I would like to participate in some other way…
You’re in luck! This season, we are introducing…
Who likes to listen to Short Shorts? WE LIKE TO LISTEN TO SHORT SHORTS!
Short Shorts is a new segment of quick one minute stories with a surprise guest. These appear midway through the episode and don’t necessarily need to have much in common with the main themes of the episode.
The benefits of the Short Shorts segment:
it offers a variety of voices to each episode
it provides a surprise for the listener (“Hey, I didn’t expect to hear this voice!”)
it acts as a nice little break to the previous segment’s content
it will play well on social media as a little contained story
